Interim Commercial Counsel | Tech/AI Company | 3 month contract+

Taylor Root is working with a client in the tech/AI space who have a lean legal team and is looking for some extra support.

They need someone who can principally focus on commercial contracts work (e.g. technology and services agreements, advertising contracts etc…). This is a role that would also suit someone who has a base understanding of GDPR and data privacy – it doesn’t need someone to be an expert, rather someone who’s gained understanding through being a commercial/technology lawyer.

This is an interim role for an initial period of 3 months, but it may go on for longer with potential to extend to 6+months. They need someone to start in the next few weeks, so the role would suit someone who doesn’t have a notice period.

Profile Required:

• Qualified solicitor in the UK or common law jurisdiction, with c. 3-7 years’ PQE.
• This role requires someone with strong commercial contracts experience, ideally within the technology or media arena.
• Having someone with in-house experience is preferred, but not essential. This role could suit someone coming directly from a commercial/technology focused team in private practice.
• Having someone who is a self-starter, proactive, personable, and good humoured would work well.

Whilst this is a short-term role, the opportunity is a great building block for somebody looking to progress their career in-house. The individual will be given a lot of autonomy and be working directly with sales teams and internal stakeholders so will develop the softer skills required to thrive in an in-house legal team.
